Obituary of Leonard Hunter

GLADE SPRING, VIRGINIA: LEONARD HOMER HUNTER, JR., age 62, of Glade Spring went to be with the Lord September 16, 2011. He was an active member of Galilean Baptist Church in Meadowview, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Evelyn Hunter of Marion, VA and his infant sister, Nancy Lou Hunter. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Hunter of Glade Spring, VA, two daughters and spouses: Sylvia and Dean Horton of Hillsville, VA, Melissa and Carroll Doss of Glade Spring, VA; a son and spouse: Jason and Brandi Hunter of Glade Spring, VA; three brothers, and spouses: George and Sandy Hunter of Roanoke, VA, Ron and Dixie Hunter of Chilhowie, VA, John and Diane Hunter of Nashville, TN; three sisters and spouses, Mary and Randy Bohon of Richwood, TX, Liz and John Green of Wytheville, VA, Susan and Lewis Doane of Wytheville VA; four grandchildren: Cody and Kelly Spruill of Hillsville, VA, Lilly Cregger of Hillsville, VA, and Katelyn Doss of Glade Spring, VA; several nieces and nephews; and a special Granddog, Benji Hunter of Glade Spring, VA. Pall Bearers will be: Josh Vaughn, John David Green, Chad Ratliff, Matt Ratliff, Kenny Gentry, Steve McCrady, John Green and Mike Mash. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor John Surber officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA where Military Rites will be conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
