Obituary of Louis Buck

ATKINS, VIRGINIA: LOUIS J. "BILL" BUCK, age 83, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at his home in Atkins, Virginia. He was born September 12, 1928 in Wythe County, one of fifteen children, to the late Herbert and Neta Grubb Buck. Bill was a member of Davis Memorial United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea. He was retired from road construction as a supervisor after many years of service and was also owner and operator of Bucks Auto Sales for several years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Ryan Buck. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years Aliene C. Buck of Atkins, Virginia; one son, Harvey Buck and wife, Becky of Atkins, Virginia; granddaughter, Jennifer Powers and husband, J.C.; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Emiley Powers; five sisters, Hazel Cox, Eva Spraker and husband, Leon all of Wytheville, Virginia, Nadine Dutton and husband, Jack of Rural Retreat, Virginia, Evelyn Hart of Marion, Virginia and Betty Jo Crockett of Roanoke, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Davis Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Bill Schoeneman and Doctor Timothy Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
